The BASW Renal Special interest Group aims to provide a forum for renal social workers, supporting professional development and promoting the highest standards of social work practice in the field of renal care. Membership of the group is open to all social workers and social work assistants working in renal services in the United Kingdom.
The group meets three times a year and runs an annual study day. Members pay an annual subscription and the group is financially supported by the BKPA Elizabeth Ward Education Fund.
The Renal Special Interest Group has a seat on the British Renal Society council and is an affiliated member of the European Dialysis and Transplant Nurses Association / European Renal Care Association.
